The Estero Bay Surf Club retained its lock on the “Big, Bad, and Ugly” Surfing
Club Invitational by surviving a monumental challenge by rival Pedro Point
Surf Club of Pacifica. Pedro Point brought 25 surfers in all divisions,
but was unable to bring down the local club on Estero Bay's home court. |

Wave size at the “Rock” in Morro Bay ranged from four
to eight feet, nowhere near last year’s monster conditions of 15 feet. The
ocean, and weather, provided more than a challenge to the 92 participants.
The contestants experienced 50 degree water, wind, rain, hail, and even
an off-shore water spout. Hey Mother Nature! Bring it on!! This is
"The Ugly"!!! |
